CATHY prides itself as a brand that champions Philippine craftsmanship and artistry. Hand-woven tinalak made by the tribes in Mindanao, carefully inlaid shell components sourced from Cebu, and woven sabutan mats from Aurora are just some of the materials used in creating the brand's uniquely contemporary yet distinctly Filipino designs.

CATHY believes that homegrown materials and techniques  can be integrated with modern resources to generate beautiful and globally competitive products. It is the brand's mission to promote and showcase the wealth of Philippine materials to the local market, and eventually to the world.

Cathy de Leon-Pamandanan's eponymous label began with her passion for bags. At the age of 19, Cathy fortuitously set up a business. In search of fun yet reasonably priced bags, Cathy found that the local market then fell short in terms of choices for young women like her. After sketching designs and toying with the idea of creating her own bags, Cathy employed the services of a bag manufacturer. Not long after, Cathy started taking orders from classmates and friends. This small venture soon blossomed into a business when Cathy joined her first bazaar in 2000. In 2006, in order to reach a wider market Cathy built her own website to serve as an online catalog for clients.

Today, the brand's product range has expanded to include small accessories and jewelry.
